Offset printing, also known as the transfer of images, is a relatively simple and inexpensive way of printing but provides high quality.
First of all an aluminium plate containing the desired image is set on a plate cylinder. Then, the areas that will not contain image material are moistened. Then ink rollers are fitted on that transfer ink to the image containing (and so non-moisturized) areas of the aluminium plate. The image than is printed, in a mirrored fashion, on a rubber blanket. Finally this rubber blanket prints the right image on the packaging.
